Fire Will Come

Oliver Laxe (Paris, 1982) premiered his debut feature film in 2010 with You All Are Captains, winner of the International Critics Award from the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. Mimosas, his second film, won the Grand Prix at the 2016 Cannes International Film Festival Critics Week and it premiered in Spanish movie theatres through NUMAX Distribution that same year. In 2019, Laxe was awarded the Jury Prize in the Official Section with Fire Will Come. After serving a sentence for causing a fire, Amador is released. Nobody is waiting for him when he gets out of prison. He goes back to a village hidden in the mountains of rural Lugo to live with his elderly mother, Benedicta, his dog Luna and their three cows. Life goes on calmly, following the rhythm of nature. But everything changes when a raging fire sweeps the region.
